pyélocystite, pyélo-cystite, subst. fém. ,,Inflammation concomitante de la vessie et du bassinet`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972). Deux cas de pyélocystite à paratyphique B ont été observés (WIDAL, LEMIERRE, ABRAMI ds Nouv. Traité Méd. fasc. 3 1927, p. 174).
pyélonéphrite, pyélo-néphrite, subst. fém. ,,Affection inflammatoire d'origine bactérienne intéressant le bassinet et le parenchyme rénal`` (MAN.-MAN. Méd. 1980). Ordinairement le rein est gros, bosselé, parsemé de masses tuberculeuses, petites ou volumineuses, caséifiées ou constituant de vastes abcès froids qui siègent surtout dans la couche corticale et qui peuvent s'ouvrir dans le bassinet (d'où pyélo-néphrite et pyurie bacillaire) (CALMETTE, Infection bacill. et tubercul., 1920, p. 194).
pyélonéphrose, subst. fém. ,,Toute affection du bassinet et du rein de nature non inflammatoire`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972).

pyélo-urétéral, -ale, -aux, adj. ,,Qui se rapporte au bassinet et à l'uretère`` (MAN.-MAN. Méd. 1980).
pyélo-vésical, -ale, -aux, adj. Réflexe pyélo-vésical. Douleur réflexe provoquée chez les sujets atteints de pyélite quand on presse la paroi abdominale (d'apr. Lar. 20e).
Prononc. et Orth.:[pjelo], en syll. inaccentuée [--]. Mots constr. gén. soudés mais des ex. avec trait d'union: pyélo-cystite. Trait d'union dans le cas de comp. du type cumulatif: pyélo-urétral, etc.
